pursuits cajole.
Energies capitulate
unique brightnesses
to torch-bearing wholes.
After emptying shell holes
of earth, preemptive
punch bowls hang
over memories and last
night’s battle debris
patch together
the subsequent daze.
Endorphins and adrenaline
war for each inch,
tickling psyches which
contemplate the switch.
Any uncertain circuits
sour. Their light-year slices
turn distance pandemic
for these falling
bodies of hours.
